A unique double

This is to make up for that Oscar we never gave you for 'Speed 2'

Hats off to Sandra Bullock, who pulled off the unique feat yesterday of winning the Best Meryl… sorry, Best Actress Oscar for her role in ‘The Blind Side’ less than 24 hours after winning the Worst Actress Razzie for ‘All About Steve’.

And like a real trooper, Bullock accepted both awards in person.

I'm guessing somewhat less effort was put in to this outfit than the Oscars gown... but what do I know

Just one day before joining the pantheon of Oscar-winning actresses like Halle Berry, Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman, Sandy attended the Razzies at Los Angeles’ Barnsdale Theatre. She accepted her award with grace, humility… and a bucket-load of copies of the DVD for ‘All About Steve’, which she dutifully handed out to guests.

It’s refreshing to see a smidgen of perspective shown during Hollywood’s self-congratulatory silly season. Kudo’s to you Ms. Bullock, here’s hoping your career avoids the ‘Cuba Gooding Jnr Curse’.

SHOW ME... some employment? Please?!

And a word of advice from Halle’s people at ICM… it doesn’t matter if Chris Nolan himself approaches you this week, shows you a folio of stunning concept designs, and says he has big ideas for a $150 million Dark Knight sequel/Catwoman spin-off… YOU RUN! RUN SANDY! RUN LIKE THE WIND!

Hoo-ray for Hol-ly-wood,

Would being named both best and worst actress mean that she is versatile? Or that her script agent needs vetting?

Or maybe it means that the ‘Best Actress’ Oscar should actually be re-named ‘Best Actress This One Occasion But Not Consistently Or Often Or Ever Again Probably’.

Or perhaps something snappier. Like “The Halle Award goes to…”
